Joyce Bruce

Joyce Bruce an Eastside native graduated from East High School and continued her education at DMACC where she received an A. A. degree.  Attended Drake University attaining a Bachelor of Science
in Social Science and Special Education. Obtained a Masters of Science at Drake University in Education
Curriculum and Instruction. Became a Teacher Evaluator with an Administrative License as a graduate
from Iowa State University.  Worked as a teacher and administrator in middle and high schools.
Retired and begin working with community organizations mediating Juvenile Justice and Department
of Human Services cases thru Family Team Meetings and Youth Team Meetings for Children and Family
of Iowa.  Currently serving as a mediator for Amos Let's Talk and 2nd Chance programs in school
settings which provides an opportunity to assist those facing challenging obstacles to develop self- resolutions.

Joyce has served as Amos Circle trainer for Restorative Justice and has taught teachers how to conduct
a circle with the students in their school.  She enjoys working within the school setting, listening and seeing
how today's technology and teaching strategies can be empowering for future leaders.
