An ASCD Emerging Leader and one of the National School Board Association’s “20 to Watch,” Leslie Pralle Osborn has amassed a unique set of experiences and skills in her decade in education. Prior to joining Prairie Lakes AEA as an Instructional Technology consultant in the Leadership and Learning department in August 2013, Leslie Pralle Osborn taught 6-12 grade Social Studies and 6-8 grade computer at Northeast Hamilton CSD in Blairsburg, IA. After taking on a leadership role in professional development at Northeast Hamilton, Leslie helped lead their 2012-2013 1:1 iPad implementation. Leslie has classroom and professional experience and training in numerous areas, including gamification, blended learning, project based learning, and standards-based grading, as well as piloting the Big History Project. She has received several awards and recognitions during her time in education, including being named both a Bill of Rights Institute Fellow (2010) and C-SPAN Education Fellow (2011). Leslie served as the Vice President and Media Director of the Iowa Council for the Social Studies, who named her Teacher of the Year in 2012. She continues to stay involved in Social Studies education after being named the Prairie Lakes Social Studies consultant in 2017. In 2014 she was named a PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator and an ISTE Emerging Leader in 2016. Leslie is a regular local, state, and national presenter, focusing on designing culturally responsive classrooms, equity, and empowering students through global citizenship, creativity, and connected education.
