All students deserve to see their stories reflected in the books they read. While many teachers want to build inclusive and diverse classroom libraries, it can be overwhelming to keep up with the new and engaging titles that are published each year.
In this session, literacy expert Michelle Abeln will share newer titles for K-12 classrooms that feature a diverse cast of characters and explore various identities related to race, religion, socioeconomic status, neurodiversity, ability, and orientation. Michelle will also highlight the #OwnVoices movement and share titles that feature authors writing through the lens of their own identities
